Day 1 – Scenic Drive

Shimla to Sangla via Kinnaur

Arrive in Shimla around 7:30 AM. The Spiti Expedition journey starts here. Enjoy a long drive through the scenic beauty of Kinnaur via Narkanda and Rampur. Stop at the iconic Kinnaur Gate for group photography and continue via the impressive Karcham Dam. Arrive in Sangla, check in to your accommodation, and enjoy dinner with an overnight stay.

Day 2 – Chitkul & Tabo

Chitkul · Khab Sangam · Nako Lake

After breakfast, check out and drive to Chitkul, the last Indian village near the China border. Explore the village and enjoy scenic views. Then head to Tabo via Khab Sangam, the confluence of the Spiti and Sutlej rivers. On the way, visit Nako Lake, a peaceful high‑altitude lake. Reach Tabo by evening, check in, have dinner, and stay overnight.

Day 3 – Tabo Monastery & Kaza

After breakfast, spend some peaceful time at the beautiful Tabo Monastery and listen to stories shared by the monks. Then begin your journey towards Kaza – the administrative hub of Spiti Valley. En route, explore the ancient Dhankar Monastery, one of the oldest in the valley, with breathtaking views. Reach Kaza, spend the evening exploring the local market and cozy cafés. Day 4 – Langza · Komic · Hikkim

After breakfast, get ready for a day of local sightseeing around Kaza. Start by visiting Langza, known for its giant Buddha statue and fossil‑rich landscapes. Next, head to Hikkim, home to one of the world's highest post offices — send a postcard! Continue to Komic, the highest motorable village in the world, offering incredible views. Return to Kaza by evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 – Key Monastery & Chicham Bridge

After breakfast, head out for a day of sightseeing. Start with a visit to the iconic Key Monastery, the largest and most famous monastery in Spiti, known for its stunning hilltop location and peaceful atmosphere. Then drive to the spectacular Chicham Bridge, one of Asia's highest suspension bridges, offering thrilling views of the deep gorge below. Return to Kaza by evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 – Gue Monastery & Kalpa

After breakfast, depart from Kaza and head towards Kalpa, traveling via Tabo. En route, visit the peaceful Gue Monastery, famous for its ancient murals, serene location, and the 500‑year‑old mummy of a Buddhist monk, remarkably preserved due to the dry, cold climate. Continue your scenic journey through the Spiti Valley and reach Kalpa by evening. Check in, enjoy dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 7 – Return Journey

Kinner Kailash · Suicide Point · Shimla

Wake up to the majestic Kinner Kailash view. Visit the popular Suicide Point and start your excursion back to Shimla. Reach Shimla by evening and board the Volvo for your overnight journey to Delhi. Arrive in Delhi next morning (Day 8). End of services.

Yes, Spiti is accessible in winter via the Atal Tunnel and the Shimla-Kinnaur route. However, roads may be affected by snowfall. Our team monitors weather conditions and adjusts the itinerary for safety. The winter landscape is breathtaking and well worth the adventure.
We offer three options: Tempo Traveller (group shared), 4x4 with driver (Toyota Hilux/Isuzu or Jimny/Gypsy), and Self‑Drive (extra cost for Volvo from Delhi to Chandigarh). Choose based on your comfort and adventure preference.
We provide comfortable hotels and homestays in Sangla, Tabo, Kaza, and Kalpa. Rooms are on sharing basis (quad/triple/double). Amenities are basic but cozy, with heating facilities available on request (additional cost).
Pack heavy winter clothing — thermal wear, insulated jackets, woollen gloves, caps, and sturdy waterproof boots. Sunscreen and sunglasses are essential due to high UV reflection from snow. Carry a power bank and reusable water bottle.
